Stop and Stare

As I have not yet told you my all time EPICALLY favorite show is Color Splash on HGTV. I mean it's come to the extent that I have heart palpitations when I see David Bromstead fill up my screen. Sad. I know. But the new episode came on last night (yes I have no social life and watch home decorating networks instead) and sadly I couldn't find any pictures because it was completely amazing. He did an amazing take on traditional style with a little bit of modern and shabby chic thrown in. Every piece and idea in that room was utterly beautiful, but the stand out was this amazing coffee table made out of anchor chain (now your getting the picture above behind the rambling. Just trying to keep you on your toes my beautiful readers). So this gave me an idea to find images of furniture made by... interesting materials, and here are my results.

Street signs.. I actually knocked this idea off a Home by Novagratz (?) commercial, but it's still pretty spectacular. I want the coffee table. now

Giant legos. Cool but comfortable? I'm going to have to say no

This starfish chair may not be made out of unusual materials but it resembles one unusual starfish. O Patrick.

Cringingly Cool

(images via stylish wanderer, and jak & jil)

As your probably learning , I'm a very color stimulated type of person.. what with the smurf post an all. Anyway the color palette I'm referring to is pink and red. I'm not usually a big pink fan. cringe. but I like the pop that it gives in the pictures above. Plus I would love to have that girls hair in the last picture.. but in blue. Are you seeing the obsession?

Smurfin Fabulous

It's so nice to settle down, if only for a week. sigh.. I've been having a blue obsession lately. I don't know if it's because it's my lucky color (because I could use some good luck) or if I just need some calm after all these crazy travels. Even though blue isn't my "favorite" color it's up there. i do have my wall electric/powder blue and it's going to be my accent color in my dorm room. So even though I'm not a smurf, sadly, a little blue never hurt anyone.

It's in her aire

(images via carolinesmode/fashiongirl, karlascloset, intothegloss)
I'm finding these girls aires of confidence and laid back sense of style very inspiring lately. You have to understand I'm a girl deeply infatuated with fashion and the art of expressing ones self through their appearance. But I am a looker on of sorts, I dress like a tomboy most of the time, which you probably could guess from 2 of the 3 photos provided above. I've always been this way. I've tried to dress more girly, more trendy but it feels like a costume to me. I'm not that girl that gets up two hours early to do her hair and make up. So on this blog you will definitely see that side of my, but I also want to share things I would dare not wear myself but fashions that have inspired me from the wearer's artistic spirit. I'm all about the art of expression, though I believe i have strayed away from my original topic. So lets get back on track shall we. I'm so envious of girls who can just wear a t-shirt and jean and exude not exactly sex appeal but confidence. It's something I'm trying to learn myself. I don't know if it is something you could learn or you have to be born with. But I'll leave that for you to ponder.
As for the shoes in the middle, I got this photo from one of my favorite fashion blogs, karla's closet. She has such an amazing sense of style, and beautiful shoes as you can see. I unfortunately can only enjoy the photos of such amazing shoes, because I am a self diagnosed clutz. So when I try and wear heels, I look like a baby giraffe trying to walk for the first time. Plus, I'm sorry, I'm just not putting up with the pain. Any whoot I hope you enjoy her amazing shoes and the quirky blue nail polish in the last two photos (another one of my favorite colors).
